APPROVED FOODS: Phase 3 of the Omni Drops Program
The maintenance phase (also known as Phase 3) is the 3 week period after you finish your drops. There are a few simple rules you must follow: you must weigh yourself every day, you must remain within 2 pounds of your last day of drops weight (either above or below), and you cannot eat sugars and starches. It is extremely important to eat enough protein on this phase, many people eat at least 100 grams of true protein (about 400 grams weighed raw). If you go over the 2 pounds, you must do a steak day. (see Steak Day at the end of this post)
I want to be CRYSTAL clear that this 3 week period is crucial to the success of the diet. We have compiled a list to help you out. Before we get to the list, read an excerpt from Dr. Simeon’s “Pounds & Inches”:
When the three days of dieting after the last set of drops are taken, the patients are told that they may now eat anything they please, except sugar and starch, provided they faithfully observe one simple rule. This rule is that they must have their own portable bathroom-scale always at hand, particularly while traveling. They must without fail weigh themselves every morning as they get out of bed, having first emptied their bladder. If they are in the habit of having breakfast in bed, they must weigh before breakfast.
It takes about 3 weeks before the weight reached at the end of the treatment becomes stable, i.e. does not show violent fluctuations after an occasional excess. During this period patients must realize that the so-called carbohydrates, that is sugar, rice, bread, potatoes, pastries etc, are by far the most dangerous. If no carbohydrates whatsoever are eaten, fats can be indulged in somewhat more liberally and even small quantities of alcohol, such as a glass of wine with meals, does no harm, but as soon as fats and starch are combined things are very liable to get out of hand. This has to be observed very carefully during the first 3 weeks after the treatment is ended otherwise disappointments are almost sure to occur.
One last item before we begin: The day that you give yourself your last set of drops, you count 72 hours (continuing on the Phase 2 eating plan for those 72 hours) from that moment and then you start the maintenance phase. That weight that you were the morning of your last set of drops is the weight that you use as a basis for your maintenance phase. Anything OVER two pounds from that weight calls for a steak day.
NOTE: The time period to begin this phase is not 3 days after your last set of drops, it is 72 hours! (For example, if you have your last set of drops on Monday at 8 pm, you will begin the maintenance phase on Thursday at 8 pm.)
First thing, when beginning the 3 week maintenance phase, make sure to increase your calories to between 1200 and 1500. Don't try to continue the diet after the hCG is out of your system. Bear in mind, your weight will fluctuate the first week or two; this is normal. Do a steak day if you need to. The weight will eventually stabilize. Watch the starch and sugar religiously during the 3 weeks. Read labels. Eat whatever you want, without starch or sugar, during the maintenance phase. Make sure you are eating enough. Use healthy fats and dairy products to up your calorie intake if necessary. Drink enough water.
NO Starches or Sugars are allowed during Phase 3
While you CAN add back in many fruits, vegetables and meats now, you STILL need to avoid ALL sugars and starches for the next 3 weeks.
You still cannot have any breads, pastas, rice, potatoes, nuts (15 plain almonds per day is OK), tofu, breaded meats, lunch meats, sausage, hot dogs, ham, bacon, oatmeal, breakfast cereals, etc.
Dairy Foods to Avoid
NO Yogurt with ADDED sugar content PLAIN yogurt or Plain Greek yogurt is OK. I recommend full fat Fage, plain.
NO Pre-Packaged Shredded/grated Cheeses (They use starch on it, to keep the cheese from sticking together) Coffee creamers (liquid and powder)
NOTHING that is “Fat Free” or “Light” – Sugars and starches are added for texture and flavoring
Be sure to check labels still on ALL foods/drinks you are going to have. Many foods may not have sugar, but they do contain starch!
Stevia is STILL the only sugar you can use at this point. These last 3 weeks are the most crucial to your weight STAYING off! If you cheat now, your results will not be lasting and you could risk gaining all of your weight back.
You have done a great job avoiding these foods already… just 3 more short weeks!!!

Steak Day Tips: Buy yourself the biggest, fattest, best marbled cut of meat they have to offer (you don't have to watch the fat now) and if you're not sure which cut is best, ask the meat guy. Take it home and sauté it in oil, butter, garlic, or whatever other seasoning you want. Relish every bite of the steak until you are full. Follow with an apple. You can substitute a tomato for the apple if you prefer. Some have lost as much as 7 pounds of gained inflammation in just one day using this technique.

SUGAR: Are we all addicts?
Sugar is much like a drug, we are left wanting more. Is it
because it tastes good or is it something more complex? Could sugar be your
addiction? This is not just a silly
cliché; it is backed by medical and psychological fact with case studies. So what’s the big deal? It’s just sugar.
Let’s start off with some random facts:
- On average, Americans eat in excess of 156 POUNDS of sugar a YEAR. For the record, that is more than I currently weigh and I am deeply disturbed by this number
- More than half of the sugar consumed by us is through beverages: soda, sports drinks, energy drinks and “juices”.
- Research has directly linked sugar to increased levels of LDL (I like to remember that as the bad cholesterol by calling it “Loser” while HDL is the good cholesterol, the “hero”).
- Studies have revealed that tumors have been knows to feed on glucose, increasing their size.
- Sugar reduces/suppresses the immune system. After consuming things with sugar (such as bottle of soda) it temporarily inhibits the immune system. If sugar is consumed regularly, you are impairing your defense mechanisms for an even longer period of time.
- Refined sugar has been directly linked to all of these ailments/illnesses:·
·
Hair Loss
·
ADD/ADHD
·
Obesity
·
Hypertension
·
Metabolic Syndrome
·
Cardiovascular Disease
·
Allergies
·
Dizziness & Insomnia
·
Type 2 Diabetes
·
Bipolar and other Mood
Disorders
Given the abundance of
information we have on the negative effects of sugar on the body, I believe it is time to
start removing it. I can only speak from personal experience therefore that is precisely what I will do. Here is what I know:
I have never felt better when I removed sugar from my diet. I never felt worse when I broke down and consumed products containing high levels of sugar. That;s too generic of a statement, isn't it? Ok, here is a real time story for you. Just last night we hosted a birthday party at our house for our soon to be 9 year old. It was an outdoor movie night and we loaded the kids up with chips, candies and opted for “make your own sundae” instead of a traditional cake. Let’s face it, I was stressed. 10 wild boys all hopped up on sugar circling each other like sharks and then simultaneously crashing, this is not for the weak. However, weak is exactly what I had become. One by one, I popped in an Oreo here and some Reeses Cups there. To be honest, I lost track the number of times I performed my shameful hand scooping motion of throwing back candy, like that of a patient taking a pill. I was all charged up and felt fine. Then it came, the wave of nausea and then the dull headache which grew bigger as the hours ticked on. Unfortunately it did not end there, as I woke to feelings of depression and lethargy. Was it because the kids wore me down as I am now almost 40? Or was it the sugar? I will tell you that this is not my first sugar rodeo, I have experienced this before. I used to blame the environment, stress, fatigue, my job…you name it. Here is the truth, people: It’s the sugar. There is not a doubt in my mind that I have done this to myself.
The issue here is that if I TELL someone this, much like a person would say " oh I am sooo hungover", I would be met with some eye rolls and scoffs. I have experimented with this before (expressing my sugar hangover) and its seems the majority of people say the same thing to me, “it’s a natural substance”. To that I reply “so is cyanide”. I will then add that cyanide is a chemical compound that is found in seeds such as the pit of wild cherry, but you won’t catch me eating it! If you have ever tried to stop sugar cold turkey, you may find that it is not as easy as you thought. If you think I am nuts, just try it. Don't read just the nutritional values on the side of the packages either, read the ingredients..you will be SHOCKED at how many things contain sugar.
Are you ready to take on the
challenge? What do you have to LOSE? (wink wink)

Why am I having weight fluctuations or stalling while on Omni Drops?
This is a great article that you will need to keep. At one point or another we all have that day where we stop losing or even GAIN a little. This is a great resource to help you understand what is happening to your body when the scale is not moving or moving in the wrong direction. For more information or to order Omnitrition products, visit www.allaboutomni.com
FLUCTUATIONS IN WEIGHT LOSS
After the fourth or fifth day of dieting the daily loss of weight begins to decrease to one pound or somewhat less per day, and there is a smaller urinary output. Men often continue to lose regularly at that rate, but women are more irregular in spite of faultless dieting. There may be no drop at all for two or three days and then a sudden loss which reestablishes the normal average. These fluctuations are entirely due to variations in the retention and elimination of water, which are more marked in women than in men. The weight registered by the scale is determined by two processes not necessarily synchronized under the influence of HCG.
**>>>> IMPORTANT: Fat is being extracted from the cells, in which it is stored in the fatty tissue. When these cells are empty and therefore serve no purpose, the body breaks down the cellular structure and absorbs it, but breaking up of useless cells, connective tissue, blood vessels, etc. This process may lag behind the fat-extraction we are all looking for. When this happens the body appears to replace some of the extracted fat with water which is retained for this purpose. As water is heavier than fat the scales may show no loss of weight, although sufficient fat has actually been consumed to make up for the deficit in the 500-Calorie diet. When such tissue is finally broken down, the water is liberated and there is a sudden flood of urine and a marked loss of weight. This simple interpretation of what is really an extremely complex mechanism is the one we give those patients who want to know why it is that on certain days they do not lose, though they have committed no dietary error. Patients who have previously regularly used diuretics as a method of reducing, lose fat during the first two or three weeks of treatment which shows in their measurements, but the scale may show little or no loss because they are replacing the normal water content of their body which has been dehydrated. Diuretics should never be used for reducing.
INTERRUPTIONS OF WEIGHT LOSS
We distinguish four types of interruption in the regular daily loss. The first is the one that has already been mentioned in which the weight stays stationary for a day or two, and this occurs, particularly towards the end of a course, in almost every case.
THE PLATEAU
The second type of interruption we call a “plateau”. A plateau lasts 4-6 days and frequently occurs during the second half of a full course, particularly in patients that have been doing well and whose overall average of nearly a pound per effective injection has been maintained. Those who are losing more than the average all have a plateau sooner or later. A plateau always corrects, itself, but many patients who have become accustomed to a regular daily loss get unnecessarily worried. No amount of explanation convinces them that a plateau does not mean that they are no longer responding normally to treatment. In such cases we consider it permissible, for purely psychological reasons, to break up the plateau. This can be done in two ways. One is a so-called “apple day”. An apple-day begins at lunch and continues until just before lunch of the following day. The patients are given six large apples and are told to eat one whenever they feel the desire though six apples is the maximum allowed. During an apple-day no other food or liquids except plain water are allowed and of water they may only drink just enough to quench an uncomfortable thirst if eating an apple still leaves them thirsty. Most patients feel no need for water and are quite happy with their six apples. Needless to say, an apple-day may never be given on the day on which there is no injection. The apple-day produces a gratifying loss of weight on the following day, chiefly due to the elimination of water. This water is not regained when the patients resume their normal 500-calorie diet at lunch, and on the following days they continue to lose weight satisfactorily. The other way to break up a plateau is by giving a non-mercurial diuretic for one day. This is simpler for the patient but we prefer the apple-day as we sometimes find that though the diuretic is very effective on the following day it may take two to three days before the normal daily reduction is resumed, throwing the patient into a new fit of despair. It is useless to give either an apple day or a diuretic unless the weight has been stationary for at least four days without any dietary error having been committed.
REACHING A FORMER LEVEL
The third type of interruption in the regular loss of weight may last much longer - ten days to two weeks. Fortunately, it is rare and only occurs in very advanced cases, and then hardly ever during the first course of treatment. It is seen only in those patients who during some period of their lives have maintained a certain fixed degree of obesity for ten years or more and have then at some time rapidly increased beyond that weight. When then in the course of treatment the former level is reached, it may take two weeks of no loss, in spite of hCG and diet, before further reduction is normally resumed.
MENSTRUAL INTERRUPTION (TOM: time of month)
The fourth type of interruption is the one which often occurs a few days before and during the menstrual period and in some women at the time of ovulation. It must also be mentioned that when a woman becomes pregnant during treatment - and this is by no means uncommon - she at once ceases to lose weight. An unexplained arrest of reduction has on several occasions raised our suspicion before the first period was missed. If in such cases, menstruation is delayed, we stop injecting and do a precipitation test five days later. No pregnancy test should be carried out earlier than five days after the last injection, as otherwise the HCG may give a false positive result. Oral contraceptives may be used during treatment.
DIETARY ERRORS
Any interruption of the normal loss of weight which does not fit perfectly into one of those categories is always due to some possibly very minor dietary error. Similarly, any gain of more than 100 grams is invariably the result of some transgression or mistake, unless it happens on or about the day of ovulation or during the three days preceding the onset of menstruation, in which case it is ignored. In all other cases the reason for the gain must be established at once. The patient who frankly admits that he has stepped out of his regimen when told that something has gone wrong is no problem. He is always surprised at being found out, because unless he has seen this himself he will not believe that a salted almond, a couple of potato chips, a glass of tomato juice or an extra orange will bring about a definite increase in his weight on the following day. Very often he wants to know why extra food weighing one ounce should increase his weight by six ounces. We explain this in the following way: Under the influence of HCG the blood is saturated with food and the blood volume has adapted itself so that it can only just accommodate the 500 calories which come in from the intestinal tract in the course of the day. Any additional income, however little this may be, cannot be accommodated and the blood is therefore forced to increase its volume sufficiently to hold the extra food, which it can only do in a very diluted form. Thus it is not the weight of what is eaten that plays the determining role but rather the amount of water which the body must retain to accommodate this food. This can be illustrated by mentioning the case of salt. In order to hold one teaspoonful of salt the body requires one liter of water, as it cannot accommodate salt in any higher concentration. Thus, if a person eats one teaspoon full of salt his weight will go up by more than two pounds as soon as this salt is absorbed from his intestine. To this explanation many patients reply: Well, if I put on that much every time I eat a little extra, how can I hold my weight after the treatment? It must therefore be made clear that this only happens as long as they are under HCG. When treatment is over, the blood is no longer saturated and can easily accommodate extra food without having to increase its volume. Here again the professional reader will be aware that this interpretation is a simplification of an extremely intricate physiological process which actually accounts for the phenomenon.
Mind over Matter: Loving you as much as your kids do
I just sat down with my morning cup of coffee. My son has a birthday party today and there are about 900 other things I should be doing right now. So what has me stalled? I am mentally stressing because I do not know what to wear. Yes, you have read that correctly, I am so vein that I am stressing about my outfit! I have 9 year old's coming over here, what is the matter with me? Trust me, it is not because I am looking to be a fashion model and get all decked out, I just want to be comfortable outdoors without covering up so much. Why do I care? I have lost about 30 pounds and about 10 pounds away from my "dream" weight. Why is it that I don't see what everyone else sees? My internal battle of my chubby-good versus chubby-evil forges on.
So this morning, here I am, mentally indexing my wardrobe. I am sipping my coffee and scrolling through Facebook, then continue on to Yahoo news. I stumble upon a picture of a woman laying on the beach with a black bathing suit and swim skirt on. You can not see her face, but the heading says "Exposed by my children for what I really look like". Hmmm, this looks interesting, I know THAT feeling, I think. I click into the article and it all but made me cry. How relevant I thought, as I continued to read. This is an article we ALL should read.
Today I am going to love my body the way my kids do. They don't care about my dimples or loose skin, they just want me to enjoy life with them. Thank you to the author of this candid tell-all, you are an inspiration! Read the article by clicking HERE.
